Review of MAC Cosmetics Lavender Fix +!

MAC Cosmetics is a high end brand that brings out special collections and collaborations, over the years MAC is consantly changing and improving their products and packaging to move with the trend and also they have been sneaking up their prices! So anyway this newest collection is called “Work it out”, some of the special collections don’t really take my fancy however there was one item in this collection that made me buy this straight away! The Lavender Fix+, this is just because my favourite scent is lavender!

The only thing I do not like about this product is that it’s not in the traditional 100ml bottle! They only sell the three scents, Lavender, Rose and Coconut in the 30ml bottle, which I would use very quickly! I did have a little worry about weather or not the scent would cause irritation but it has not, I have tried this out all over the face to set makeup but also to foil shadows and it performs exactly like the original Fix+!

Overall I love this product so much!! I only wish they did this in a larger bottle! I mean it is a special item but I think if you are a big fan of these three scents it would be great for you! I did want to make this review shorter just because yesterday’s was a very lengthy post! I hope you enjoyed reading this review on MAC Cosmetics Lavender Fix+, if you have any suggestions of reviews or any comments please feel to let me know and also make sure to follow me on Instagram for more daily updates!

First Impressions of the March Glossy Box UK!

I’ve been seeing a lot of these beauty boxes around social media a lot and I never used to think they were worth the money because you only got a few sample size items for a high price. When I looked into it I was proved wrong! In the UK they have different beauty subscription boxes to the US, I have watched some youtubers unbox their American beauty boxes such as Ipsy and Boxycharm and they seem to get a variety of beauty products for a lower price. So I checked out which beauty boxes I could receive in the UK, and the one that applied to me the most was Glossy Box, I do understand that they have a US box but their products are different inside.

Inside this months Glossy Box UK was a full size Oolution Eye love, a full size Sleek MakeUp Eye and Cheek Palette in All Day Soiree 030, a 20ml/0.68oz of ThisWorks In Transit Camera Close-up, a 20ml/0.67oz of Figs & Rouge Hydra-Activ Smart Nutrient Vital Moisture Day Cream and lastly a 30ml/1oz of Schwarzkopf Professionla BC Bonacure Oil Miracle Brazilnut Oil Pulp Treatment. I unortuantly won’t be reviewing the Figs and Rouge day cream because I have tired this before and it did not agree with my skin and made me break out so I’ll be donating that one. Other than that this will be a first impressions of the other four products.

First of all I’ll start with the eye cream by Oolution. So this product claims to diminish dark circles, reduce puffiness and also it contains 100% natural ingredients. This product is also vegan, contains no palm oil and cruelty free. SO far this all sounds brill! The texture of this is a cream/lotion feel to it, there isn’t a very strong scent but it does have a slight smell, nothing in particular I could say it would be. The colour when comes out of the tube is white but when rubbed into the skin it becomes clear. It says you can use this product a night or on a morning, since I got it this morning I used it then. Normally on a morning I would use the Clinque Prep-Start Eye Cream. So as the product claims to “diminish dark circles” I’m not use if that means start away or over time but on first application it didn’t do a lot! I will give it this it did de-puff my eyes but nothing more than my other eye cream. It sank into the skin quickly which I thought was good because I felt like I could then just apply my makeup straight away without waiting for it to dry. Overall I will keep using this but I don’t think it would be worth the original price of £30! If you are in the market for a good eye cream I would recommend the Clinque Prep-Start Eye Cream because it does de-puff and also brighten the under eye!

Next on the list is the ThisWorks In Transit Camera Close-Up, which is claims to be a mask, moisturiser and primer in one. That just seems crazy to me! I can’t get my head around how one product could be all these three things, but I’m always intrigued to try new things! This product claims to plump, brightening, reduce redness, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and also leaving the skin radiant. That is a lot of claims! It is also reported that Victoria Beckham uses and loves this product, to me that doesn’t mean anything, but everyone is different! The product comes out of the tube white but when rubbed into the skin becomes clear, it’s very thick in consistency. This cream does have a scent and I really do not like it! It’s kind of floral but also smells of sun cream but a horrible one! When the cream is rubbed it it leaves a greasy texture, I don’t mind if a primer is tacky but this is not it just feels greasy on the face. I did not notice any plumping, firmness or basically any of the claims this product has and also I felt like my makeup was slipping about on top of it and making my foundation patchy! (I did use a foundation, powder and concealer I use and love on a daily basis and I know they work!) Overall I really do not like this product, I may try it once more but I don’t have high hopes, I’ll most likely donate this to a friend or family member for them to try.

The most exciting thing in the Glossy Box was this full size Sleek MakeUp Eye and Cheek palette! I already own a few Sleek products and y favourite is the Sleek Highlight Palette in Solsitce (if you follow me on Instagram you’ll know how much I love it!) SO I did have high hopes for this product even though I have never tried their shadows before I kinda just wanted it to be good! So this is supposed to provide all your colour essentials in one easy compact. This contains four shadows and two blushes. I do think these types of palettes are a really good idea for the everyday woman who doesn’t have a lot of time on the morning and maybe not a lot of space! So I opened up the compact and the first thing I see is this bright babydoll pink, in my head I’m think oh no! Anyway there is two warmer shadows, one a orange/peachy matte and the other a peach shimmer. The other two shadows are cooler tones, an icy shimmer and a cool toned brown. It does say on the packaging there is two blushes in this but to me there is one blush and one highlight because the other shade is a straight shimmer in a champagne colour, this is actually even nicer than the two blush ideas, I do think that needs to be mentioned on the packaging though. So I’ve said all the good things about this and that’s about it, now I did wear this all day today and I got to say there is much better out there! First of all when I was putting the shadows on I wasn’t that impressed with the pigment it was kind of just average to me, I think if you are a makeup collector you’ll already have these shades in your collection and to be honest all of them didn’t really work well together. In the end it did look pretty and girly but I thought I could have achieved this with any of my other palettes and I would not have worked as hard to blend which I had to with these shadows. The pink blush in this compact is terrible! It’s chalky it has glitter in it making it chunky and when on the face it won’t blend out and so hard to apply, also it kicked off so much powder, it was just not worth the bother! The other so called blush in this palette is also terrible, there is just no pigmentation and it’s very hard in the pan I did not like this at all! Overall this compact is a pass and to be honest I won’t be reaching for this and in my head I do think I may give this away to my sister who does like that natural girly look.

Lastly is the Brazilnut Pulp Treatment, I unfortunately have not had a try of this yet, just because I did want to get this first impressions up today since I have not posted in a while but I will tell you a bit about the product. SO The sample size comes in a jar and I was just expecting it to be like a thicker conditioner like most of the other hair treatments but surprisingly this one has gritty bits in, it feels very much like an exfoliate which is interesting. It smells really good, kind of a fresh scent but also like a spa! ON the back of my hand it has made my hand super soft so I’ll be interested to try this out and I’ll let you know on Instagram if this is any good or not so make sure you follow me there to find out more!

I hope you all enjoyed my First Impressions on the Glossy Box UK, this was my first box from there and to be honest I didn’t really enjoy most of the products but I guess I was just unlucky this time. It is a part of getting these beauty box subscriptions trying new different products that you wouldn’t normally get to either discover something you love or hate! I will have another episode of my series Splurge or Save up this week and it is a good one, little hint, it’s all about the glow!

Review of Morphe Liquid Lipsticks!

I ordered two Morphe Liquid Lipsticks back when they first launched in January because I was super excited about them, like everyone was, this was a little difficult for me because I live in the U.K. so the shipping does take longer and also you have the added cost of customs tax! (What a pain!) Unfortunately my parcel got lost when it arrived to the U.K. but I’m very pleased to say that both FedEx and Morphe were very helpful in sorting out a replacement parcel and also because I had payed customs the first time to make sure this was not charged again, so overall my experience with Morphe customer service was excellent, the replies were a little slow but that is to be expected with such a big company!

The two shades I got are Virgin and Morphe, of course Virgin is a standard nude colour which I’m always attracted too and Morphe is a red colour with blue undertones in which on my skin tone is the most flattering shade of red! I got the red shade because it’s out of my comfort zone and also because I don’t have a red liquid lip in my collection. I was super excited when these came in the mail it was like Christmas had come all over again! When I posted these on Instagram I had loads of request to do a review of them and here it is! I know it has been a while in the making but I wanted to but these through the test and get the most accurate and honest review I could! (Also look for faults!) I had been looking around YouTube and blogs and to be honest I have not seen many people talking about them, I have seen a few youtubers mention them but not like a dedicated video or anything.

So the packaging is nice and sleek, just in their standard black packaging with the red and white Morphe logo, but also for an added touch there is a band at the top with the corasponding colour, this is most likely for identification. The tube it’s self is rather large compared to other liquid lipsticks I have, and I really enjoy this just because you do get more product in the tube and also it’s not a challenge to find in my purse. The formula and consistency for both the liquid lipsticks are the same, they are slightly on the thick side, but not whipped, still a liquid. Both of of them swatches beautifully, full of pigment and very rich! They dried on the back of my hand nicely, not too fast but it did not take ages which I like because it allows time to move the product about.

So first one I’ll talk about is “Morphe” this is a gorgeous red as I have already mentioned, I first tried applying this without a lipliner to test if it will bleed or feather. The liquid lipstick applied very lovely, not patchy at all! I however did find not long after application it did start to bleed around my lips and start to feather a little, but this is expected with a darker colour without a lip liner. When this liquid lip is paired with a liner it performs fantastic! It stays on for a very long time, it can deal with eating meals, I noticed if you eat oily foods it can come off a little but that is to be expected, overall I love this colour and I think it’s a perfect signature red and I’ll be wearing it a lot!

“Virgin” is the traditional nude colour, I love and gravitate towards nude colours because I know they will always look good on my skin tone! This colour is very opaque and a classic, unlike the red there is no feathering or bleeding! It does last a very long time just like the red shade, likewise it does come off a little when eating oil foods.

I am totally in love with these liquid lipstick and I would highly recommend them if you are a fan of liquid lipsticks because they are  lower in price and perform fantastic! I also think the shade range is brilliant and if it wasn’t such a fuss to get them shipped I would totally get more, hopefully they will become available on Beauty Bay or Cult Beauty where I normally purchase my Morphe products!

I hope you liked this review of the Morphe Liquid Lipsticks, I know this has been highly requested so it’s finally here!! Please leave a comment below if you have tried these or any other products you would like to see a review of please let me know or follow me on Instagram and let me know there!

Review of NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick!

I think I’m late to join the whole NYX Liquid Lipstick hype, this is because I’ve never really known how to get my hands on NYX products. I then found out the they are now online at my drugstores in the UK so I’m super pleased and also I can found out I can order them from FeelUnique so I’m super excited about that! (If you go to my Instagram page you can find 15% off products at FeelUnique!)

The first thing I noticed was a lot of the shades are very similar to each other, they all have a brown/taupe look to them which is not always the most flattering on everyone’s skin tones! The one I chose looked like it had a mauve tone to it, the colour is Ruffle Trim. When I got this delivered it does not have any mauve to it, it’s actually a really hard colour to describe! I would say it’s a warm brown with tones of red/brick colour.

Even though I was a little disappointed with the shade I opened it up anyway because well that’s me! There is no overwhelming scent which is great, if anything maybe a slight sweetness but nothing noticeable. On first application the formula is very thick but not whipped it’s still thick but a liquid, the doe foot applicator is really weird though, it’s very long and straight, I wasn’t really sure which way was the right way to apply it! I then noticed if you turn the applicator on it’s side there is a slight slope, which to me is bit annoying. This liquid liptisck dries so fast! This has to be the fasts drying one I’ve found so far but not in a good way! This dries down so dry, far too dry for me personally, I feel as if it’s sucking all the moisture out of my lips! Also when it’s completely dry it’s not smooth even though I had took time in applying it smoothly, it cracked and settled into lines of my lips I never even knew existed.

Overall I really did not like this NYX Liquid Lipstick and I was really sad about it because I have seen so many people rave about it and use it, but honestly I could just not get away with it, I never actually wore it though the whole day because it just felt so uncomfortable on my lips! I hope you liked this review leave me a comment below I love to hear what you think, also go give me a follow on Instagram and I can be in contact with everyone more and share beauty/makeup tips!

Review of Urban Decay Primer Potion!

So you’re probably thinking, damn this is a strange makeup product to be reviewing, and yes you are correct but OMG this product is life changing! I don’t say that lightly either, you should know by now that I can be harsh on products and I’ll speak my mind, I want to give you 100% honest reviews to build up trust and a community!

Before I discovered this eye primer I used to just use my concealer and then set with a powder, this was good for intensifying the colour of the shadows but during the day it would crease and smudge a lot. I was then sick of this happening so I looked into good eye primers and I discoved this one, I already love the majority of Urban Decay’s products so I thought why not, it may be good. The first one I bought must have been 2/3 years ago and I kept the tube because it reminds me to repurchase items. So you can see the comparison between the packageing  2/3 years ago and now. It’s changed a lot and I think for the better!

So first of all I much prefer the doe foot applicator on the new packaging because it means you’re not wasting any of the product because I can remember I did find that if I squeezed it too much, I was wasting a lot of the product. I did also realise that you get slightly less product in the new packaging but not a major difference.

With this primer you don’t need a lot of product because it does go a long way! If you have oily skin or oily eyelids this will be your new best friend because it will  mattify them without needing any powder. The primer will also not let oil through all day long! Even if you don’t have oil skin or eyelids I still think everyone would love this eye primer just because of how vibrant it makes the shadows look, as you can see by the photo below, it makes everything blend smoothly! This product also keeps all kinds of shadows locked into place all day without any creasing at all! If I don’t put this primer on first my shadows crease straight away no matter what I’m using so this eye primer is a life saver!

If you have the same problem with either creasing, fading, smudging or oiliness I would highly recommend picking up this primer, if you don’t want to commit to a full size, they do have a travel size available which I think is an amazing idea because you can really test it out and decide if you like it or not!

I hope you enjoyed my review of the Urband Decay Primer Potion, I do realise that I haven’t posted all weekend, this was just because I’ve been very busy because my Mam has been moving so it’s been chaotic! You can follow me on Instagram for more daily updates and see other products I’m loving and not loving.

Splurge or Save!

This week on my series of Splurge or Save I’ll be comparing Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow and I actually have three lower end versions depending on your personal preference! The three options are a pressed glitter from Prima makeup, Maybelline Color Tattoo and L’Oréal Eye Paint. The shades are as followed: Stila is in Gold Goddess, Prima pressed glitter is in Liquid Gold, Maybelline is in 24K Gold and L’oreal is in 201 Vicious Gold. These comparisons are not the exact same colour this is just different options if say you are on a budget or you are not wanting to spend a lot of money on a glitter style liquid shadow which I can totaly understand because it’s not exactly a look for the everday woman but if you want to rock a glitter lid on a Wednesday you do you boo!

So to the facts, Stila Liquid Eyeshadow is retailing for £23 (official Stila website), the product contains 0.153 fl. oz./ 4.5ml. This product comes in a square glass container with a doe foot applicator. Prima pressed glitter comes in a pan which can be stored in a magnetic palette each pan retails for £3.50, I could not actually find the weight of this product on their website but they do come in a 28mm pan. Maybellines color tattoo retails for £4.99 (local drugstore), the product comes in a glass jar, again I can’t find how much this product holds but I’m sure if you went to the drugstore it would be on the display. Lastly the L’Oréal eye paint retails at £5.99 (local drugstore), and again I was unable to find the weight of this product as well, the eye paint comes in a smaller square plastic container and also has a doe foot applicator similar to the Stila Liquid Eyeshadow!

So I have already done a review on the Stila Liquid Shadow so I won’t go into that much detail about it, but if you want to read more go check that blog post out for more information!

If you want an exact dupe for this Stila Metallic Liquid shadow I would recommend the Prima Pressed Glitter. This pressed glitter gives the same effect and is essentially the same product just in a pressed pan, the only difference is a slightly difference in consistency! The colour match for this particular shade is really spot on,  but I do know that there is wide range of colour choices!

If you are looking for something less glittery and a little more subtle for possibly everyday wear but still want a little shimmer and a nice shine to the lid, also if you are looking for the same sort of doe foot applicator as the Stila Liquid Eyeshadow then I think the L’Oréal eye paint is a great option! The eye paint still does have a shimmer and shine to it but not a straight glitter like the Stila and the Prima pressed glitter. L’Oréal does a range of colours in the eye paints and I do highly recommend them because they stay on a long time and do not crease at all!

The last possibility is the Maybelline colour tattoo, I decided to add this in as an option for a possible dupe just because it is a different formulation and application to the Stila and L’Oréal. I personally think this is another subtle shimmer but very pigmented at the same time. The colour is not the same at the Stila Liquid shadow which is a more green undertone gold were as the Maybelline colour tattoo is a yellow undertone gold. This cream shadow has an excellent staying powder and also does not crease or smudge.

I do love the Stila Liquid Eyeshadows and think they are very special, but the point of this blog post is to decide if they are worth the money and if there is a cheaper option available. The answer to that is yes! I think that at least one of these options will be a great dupe for the Stila Liquid Eyeshadows, depending on what you want from the dupe, either a different consistency, application or colour and all theee of these options are very affordable!

I hope you enjoyed the second post in my Splurge or Save series, comment below or on my Instagram of any other products you would like me to find dupes off and I’ll be willing to find them and add it too this series!

Review on Bare Minerals Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss!

This Gen Nude Buttercream lipgloss is the very first item I have purchased from Bare Minerals, to be honest I have never really heard anything about the brand and it never really caught my eye in the shops. In my head I just thought they did powder makeup which I’m not a real big fan off but after I watched one of Jaclyn Hills videos were she was raving about this lipgloss, I of course had to go out and pick this up!

So to my knowledge Bare Minerals have recently launched this Gen Nude collection which consists of lipglosses, liquid lipsticks, lipsticks and lip liners. All the colours are nudes and they range from a very pale shade to a rosy pink to a mauve nude. Personally I think they have done a fantastic job on this collection because everyone no matter their skin tone will be able to find their perfect nude shade in three formulars and a lipliner to match! I was not aware until after I bought the gloss that there was such a huge collection and the variety, so I’m pleasantly surprised!

I got the shade Cosmic as it’s a nude with rose undertones and I thought it would be very flattering for everyday wear and also it does match my natural lip colour very nicely! The consistency of this gloss is heavenly!! It’s not sticky at all and does not glue the lips together like other glosses it stays looking high shine and gorgeous! The pigmentation is outstanding I was SHOOK! I never expected this gloss to have such incredible pigment, honestly with a lot of glosses you have to wear a lipstick underneath this but my goodness you can wear this gloss on it’s own and you are set to go! I would highly recommend these glosses to everyone and I’m positive you will be able to find your perfect nude from their range! I’m not sure about the other formulars since I haven’t tried them but I think I will be going back to get the others in the Gen Nude collection!

I hope you enjoyed my review of the Bare Minerals Gen Nude Buttercream gloss, I’m a huge fan of glossy lips just because I think they make the lips lol more plumper and juicy but every one has a personal preference! Comment on this post what you think and also follow me on Instagram for more updates!

Review of The Nubian 2 Palette by Juvia’s Place!

The Juvia’s Place palettes had been floating around social media a lot in 2016 and this year as well because of it’s quirk and unique looks. I have heard mixed reviews on these palettes, some people says they are gorgeous very pigmented however I have heard reviews saying they didn’t like them and found them chalky! So of course I’ll give you a every honest review because in the beauty community there is so many sponsored posts, afflicated codes ect. which can effect their opinion and a lot of people especially me find it hard to trust that opinion. I can tell you honestly now I will always and forever give me honest opinion and review of a product! If I think it’s terrible, I’ll tell you it’s terrible, if I think it’s the best product on the earth, I’ll tell you it’s the best product in the world!

So back to the shadows, at first looking at these eyeshadows they are very bright and vibrant, something I’m personally not that into but I think it is always good to step outside of your conifers zone! I did notice however there is some good neautral shades in here for transition colours, although what I like in a palette is a cream or peach colour as a base for the shadows which this palette doesn’t, but it’s not the end of the world.

The Nubian 2 Palette had four matte shadows and eight shimmers. The consistency of the matte shadows is vey good, they are all creamy and not patchy at all which is very great because normally there is one or two that don’t meet the standards of the others but in this palette that is not the case!

The shimmers in the palette to me are very special! Some of them are a very basic shimmer but if sprayed with a little MAC Fix + it does go very metallic and shiny which personally I love a shimmer to be! The others shimmers, as you can see from the swatches, are already very metallic and kind of wet looking which I find gorgeous! So I was super impressed with these shadows! I actually do really enjoy this palette and because the quality is AMAZING it’s made me step out of my comfort zone and add more pops of colours to my makeup looks!

I hope you have enjoyed my review of The Nubian 2 Palette by Juvia’s Place, I really do enjoy this palette and if you are looking for a fun vibrant palette but still wearable I would highly recommend this palette! Comment on this post if you have any products of Juvia’s Place and what you think about it and also follow me on Instagram to keep unpdated!

Review of NYX Cream Highlight and Contour Palette!

So last week I ordered a few different products from NYX, I’ve never actually used anything by NYX Cosmetics before so I wanted to get a wide range of products, one of them was this cream highlight and contour palette. This palette does come in three different shades, I purchased the Light shade. The palette does come with a matte contour shade, a matte yellow toned highlight and a shimmer pink toned highlight shade.

First of all, I expect from a cream palette like this to be very blendable on the skin and on top of foundation! I also want to be able to use cream contour and highlight shades with a beauty sponge but also a brush. For the finish I do want coverage from the cream products, also for them to last all day and to not move about on the skin during the day. This NYX palette did not do any of these things! I really wanted to love this product so much because it’s got a great price tag on and I was so sad that this was terrible! I tried it so many ways as I’ll tell you but it’s made me sad!

The contour shade in this palette looked a lovely shade, not too cool toned so I did have high hopes for the this, I then went to swatch it and in the pan this cream was really hard and felt like it could be a powder! I had to swirl my finger around a lot in the pan to warm the cream to get some pay off and I swatched it and was disappointed it’s just not creamy which it’s supposed to be! I then went to try to pick some product up with my beauty sponge, that just didn’t work, nothing happened, I then went and tried to apply it with a brush which kinda worked but when I went to blend the product out in my face (I tried it twice bare skin and foundation) this contour just disappeared, it left no colour, nothing! I was getting so frustrated because I thought I was doing it wrong or something, I then went online to see what others were saying and someone said to try mixing in a beauty oil. If I had oily skin this would be a no go! However I do have normal to dry skin so I gave it dry, all it did was make it a bit greasy but didn’t effect it any other way!

The yellow toned highlight shade was the most disappointing for me because in my head I thought this would be fantastic to brighten up the cheek area and near the under eye section of the face. When I first swatched this cream is came off very hard but also patchy and uneven! When on the face this looked horrific, it exaggerates pores, wrinkles and texture! The products moves about and clings to dry patches leaving it uneven and then if you keep blending it just disappears! I just couldn’t belive how disgusting it looked, I tried applying it so many different ways as well, fingers, beauty sponge, a brush and with oil but none of them made any difference!

The last cream in the palette is the shimmer which on the packageing is meant to highlight the high point is the face which is a great idea to have in this kit! Only if it worked though! Yet again when it was swatched it was patchy and uneven, to be honest it didn’t have a great deal of shimmer in either. This did the same thing as the yellow toned highlight it clung to dry patches and didn’t move about great and when blended it just vanished! When it was on the face it did not look like a cream highlight there was just not enjoying shimmer in there to be noticeable!

I was so disappointed with this NYX palette, I really wanted it to work because it would have been an amazing dupe for the ABH cream contour palette. Overall this was not a good product at all for me,  if you have this product and like it please leave in the comments or contact me on Instagram and tell me your secret!!

I hope you liked this review of the NYX cream highlight and contour palette, this was a bit of a different review because it was about a product I didn’t like. I will be doing a blog post once a week in my new series Splurge or Save and I’m really excited about this weeks, and I think everyone will like it as well! Give this this post a like and comment if you enjoyed it and go follow me on Instagram for more updates and other makeup products!
