I’m a massive fan of Stila products! I have used their liquid eyeliner for years and swear by it! So of course when they realised these glittery liquid eyeshadows I had to get my hands on them! I have struggled so hard to find these, I did originally want a variety of colours to test out and use because you can never have enough glitter! I only managed to get my hands on two, Gold Goddess and Diamond Dust. The rest of the shades were sold out everywhere! These liquid shadows claim to be long lasting, smooth when dried down, light weight, minimum fallout but maximum sparkle. So of course I will test these claims out!
I have tried out and wore both of these liquid eye shadows a lot to make my mind up because it’s a product personally that you have to try out on the eyes different ways to find which is the best. The first look I went for was a cut crease with purple and cranberry shades in the crease and then Diamond Dust liquid glitter eye shadow on the lid. When I completed this look I loved it and I was ready for a good makeup day, I paired the eyeshadow with a winged liner and a pinky nude lip. I had not long left my room when I looked in the mirror and noticed a lot of glitter lying on my cheeks, this was because I had started to blink and move my eyes around, the glitter had dropped down on my cheek every though it was fully dry. So yes you will get fall out with these liquid shadowseben though I would agree that they are lightweight!
After a long busy day unfortunately I have to say the glitter did not stay very good, it started to flake off during the day and got a little patchy and also transferred up onto the crease so I ended up with glitter all over my eye which did not look good! As you can see by the photo, I had glitter on my eyelashes and on the crease so it did not stay which was very disappointing.
I tried with Gold Goddess a neutral and brown smokey eye and applied the liquid shadow just to the centre of the eye and made sure not to go above the crease, with this technique it does open up and make the eyes pop. I also did find that after the day there was a little fall out but it did not transfer or move around as much as it did when it was all over the lid.
I do think this is a lovely product and the colours are amazing and the glitter is gorgeous, it does have a few let downs to it though but I didn’t think it will stop me using them for when I need a little glitter. I have heard other people talking about them and loving them but for me they just didn’t live up to my expectations, not sure if that was my own fault or not. I would say for a makeup collector, enthusiast or someone who just loves glitter it’s a very good purchase, for the everyday girl or boy this would probably be a pass for you.
